Five Ways To Be More Positive

Updated: Jul 11, 2020

Happy Monday everyone!

Now, this is a slightly hypocritical post on 'How To Be More Positive', as I'm currently struggling to keep depression at bay! So, while I hope this post will help you all, I'm partly writing it for myself also ;) .

1. Combat Negativity Pretty obvious, huh? But when you've got a lot of negative thoughts swimming around your head, it really does start to get difficult to have a positive mindset. So try to combat those thoughts of 'I don't deserve this' to 'I DO deserve this'. Easier said than done - I know!

2. Keep away from toxic people/situations If someone/something is particularly toxic or causing negativity for you - if possible, move away. During lockdown, this would most likely be someone within your household so walk away from arguments and stay in separate rooms. Especially with the current situation, relationships can feel particularly tense. 3. Achievements I'm a HUGE planner. I plan everything, from my day-to-day tasks to full on monthly (and yearly!) goals. However, when we're feeling down then sticking to our goals doesn't really matter. If the only thing you did today was eat/drink something, then that's okay. Count your successes. 4. Self-Care This one is super important. If you're feeling down or negative, your brain is most likely telling you to take a break. There's no shame in spending the day 'doing nothing', as sometimes they're the best kind of days! If you're interested in some self-care ideas, here's a sneaky link to another of my posts - Link.

5. It's OK to not be OK Accept that it's ok to not be ok. That you don't have to complete everything you aimed to do. Take today to rest and heal, and tomorrow too if you like. Your health comes first.

I hope this helped you - If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here.

Take care and stay safe, Sophie x
