Christmas is Coming

Updated: Jul 11, 2020

I love Christmas. It’s honestly my favourite day of the year; the presents, the food, good company and unlike birthdays, no guilt at the back of your mind that you’re getting older! :D Only, Christmas isn’t for everyone.

So many people on Christmas day will be hungry and alone. My post this week is for them; the elderly who live alone, the families who have drifted apart, the homeless who are cold this winter… to anyone who is having a difficult time. If your Christmas is different this year, whether that’s through losing someone close to you, families splitting up, illness or something personal: I’ll be thinking of you.

I think that in today’s society, so many people take people and life for granted, myself included. And Christmas is the perfect time to celebrate with the people around you and to be grateful that they’re there with you. Give your family and friends a hug this Christmas, and show that that you’re glad they’re here. Be there in the moment and enjoy the day fully, trying not to let your mind wander outside of the day. Little children become excited when Santa is coming, but as we grow older we must take gratitude to focus on the present (pun not intended!) and who is in front of us.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas, and don’t become too stressed when Christmas shopping! It’ll be over soon! :D Are you celebrating Christmas this year?

I apologise for the shortness of this week’s post and the lack of posts recently. I can’t face writing long posts at the moment with my own mental health struggles. Thank you for understanding :)

Take care,

Sophie x
