The Finished Book Tag

Good morning everyone! Today I thought I'd do something a little different and do a little Book Tag. This one is called 'The Finished Book Tag', which I saw on 'The Strawberry Post' blog, I hope you enjoy it!

1. Do you keep a list of the books you have read? Hm, not really. I have quite a good memory so can often remember the majority of authors that I like, books I particularly enjoyed, etc. I have a record of sorts on my Goodreads, yet these are only the books that I've read since starting my blog.

2. If you record statistics, what statistics do you record? The only statistics that I really record are on my blog, including the star rating and also a few words stating what I thought about the book.

3. Do you give star ratings for books and if so, what do you score books out of and how do you come about this score? I give star ratings, and generally my rating system is based on: 5 Stars - I love, love, love this book! It made me want to dance around the room and shout from the rooftops; I must tell everyone from friends and family to random strangers in the street! 4 Stars - I really enjoyed this book and would read it again. 3 Stars - This book was ok, but I wouldn't read it again. 2 Stars - I didn't like this book. 1 Star - Really not keen, sorry. But I'm not strict on these ratings and often go out of these 'boundaries' so-to-speak. It all depends on how much I connect with a book, e.g. if it's left me thinking about it days after I've finished - then it's often a 5 star rating. 4. Do you review books? Yep. I like to review my books the second I finish them, so all the emotion and feeling is fresh in my mind. Sometimes, if I know I've only got a few pages left of a book, I make sure to save it for when I have enough time to write the review immediately after finishing. I find they're much easier to write this way, if you're interested in reading a couple, you can find them here. 5. Where do you put your finished books? At the moment, I lot of my books are saved onto my Kindle so they sit there quietly stacking up, because I don't have the heart to delete them. For the physical books, they find their way onto my bookshelf (if they're lucky, as it's already super cramped!), if not then they find their way stacked up on chairs, tables, and neat piles on the floor until they've found their designated home.

6. Do you have any other rituals for when you have finished a book? I like to perform a little ceremony, light a candle and get my whole family to form a circle thanking the book for its generosity. Kidding! However, I do generally like to leave at least 24 hours between books just to let the last one settle, and if it's a particularly thought-provoking read then it's sometimes longer. And as mentioned above, I like to make sure that I write my review almost immediately after finishing. So there we have it! A little tag for you all :) Feel free to join in and do the tag yourself, I'd love to read a few. Let me know in the comments if you've completed the tag and I'll give it a read. I hope you've enjoyed today's post, and have a lovely week!

Take care and stay safe, Sophie x

This was such a lovely tag to read! I love how passionate you are about your books - almost believed you there when you said you and your family have a ceremony after you finish a book, haha! I like rating things too!

Much love always,
