My first book haul!

Updated: Apr 5, 2019

Good evening! Welcome to my first EVER book haul! :D

A stack of books

Books!

'Tess of the D'Urbervilles', Thomas Hardy - I remember starting to read this novel for part of my English Literature studies and was told to produce some writing about it. At the time, I was overwhelmed with my studies so I didn't feel I could enjoy the book as I was too focused on analysing it. So I've decided to buy this book to give it another try.

'Dombey and Son', Charles Dickens - I admit it, I've never finished a Dickens novel! *Gasp*. So I'm going to face this one head on - all 808 pages of it! (If I disappear for a few weeks, you know why!). Also, it does sound a rather good read so I'm looking forward to this one.

'We Must Be Brave', Frances Liardet - Moving on from the classics, I decided to purchase a couple more modern books. Although pretty, the cover reflects in the light A LOT but the text itself seems an interesting read.

'The Binding', Bridget Collins - The cover. The cover. Have you seen the cover?! It's beautiful, magical, enchanting! I bought it because of the cover, ok... and the book itself does sound rather good too.

'I Owe You One', Sophie Kinsella - I've seen a few of Kinsella's novels floating about my local shops. Strangely enough, I haven't read any of hers just yet. I'm excited to read her work and see if I like her style.

Not a too large book haul this month, but considering I'm reading while also working full-time - it's enough for me! :D

As a little disclaimer, I've purchased all of these books with my own money and they weren't received as a gift, ARCs, etc. I have no connection to the authors and they have not contacted me in any way.

Have you read or purchased any of the books above? Feel free to let me know!

Take care, Sophie x
